summer is sweet

Summer is off to a sweet start. It has been quiet at work for both of the Wobbys so we've been able to catch up on a lot of things...our favorite shows, time with friends and family, hobbies we put away for the heart of the busy season, trips home and to places far from home, and our to-do lists that have been staring us down.

This past weekend was especially sweet because we had Haddie while her ma and dad were celebrating their own summer of events. We picked her up on Saturday morning and spoiled her until the moment we begrudgingly returned her.

All bundled in and ready to go with Auntie Ali! She was so proud to show me her big girl teeth!! Our first stop - take a guess...

Yup, Caribou Coffee...gotta get 'er goin early! :)

She was having a lot of fun with Uncle Mikey's hat.
I couldn't leave out any of these pictures. They tell the story. She really wanted Uncle Mikey's straw. And Haddie gets what Haddie wants.

She says...wait a second...I think there is something better that goes along with this straw...hmm...

Hmm...that didn't work. Just give me the straw...

Our weekend continued and it was dinner time. We assembled Haddie's big girl chair and she sat in her throne for the first time!! Must be rough being perfect...look at that little thing. :)

She was mesmerized by Steven Tyler singing on the TV...I kid you not. Her grandma has trained her well.

We had SO much fun all day that by the end of the day we all crashed pretty hard - and we slept until 8am!! She is the best (and cutest) alarm clock ever, I guarantee it.

The camera phone doesn't do this moment justice...we snuggled in bed for almost an hour before getting up. She was such a happy camper. She was showing off her mad rolling skills, rolling from me to Mikey and back...over and over again. So adorable. And probably my favorite part of the weekend with her.

On Sunday, Ty & I took Haddie to her first TWINS game!! She must have been good luck because the Twins won. She was such a trooper, too - we made it through almost the entire game.

Sadly, our weekend with her came to an end but the summer fun continues...

I was able to do a project that I have been wanting to do for awhile. I made a padded strap for my camera; it turned out great. And it was pretty easy, too.

AND, continuing with the baking adventures, I thought I'd share my latest fun...
I will let the pictures tell you the story of how we made this delicious masterpiece.

Cookie dough crust...
Double Stuff OREOs in the middle...
Brownie mix on top...

Thanks for your help Mikey - it's always more fun with you!

The fun continues...we are celebrating Father's Day this week with very special people and then we are off to Hayward/Duluth for Grandma's Marathon. I am getting increasingly nervous and excited for the race. It has been a long 16 weeks of training so I think I'm ready to go. We will end the weekend with another Father's Day BBQ celebration in Medina. We continue to have a lot to celebrate and are thankful for each day.
