My best friend's wedding

Ahh, what a celebration it has been.  It has been a weekend of reunion, reminiscence, romance, and renewal. The reunion of friendships, the reminiscence of amazing times spent together, the romance of two very special people and the renewal of promise - both in friendships and in love.

On Friday, my two best college friends and I were reunited after too many months apart.  With nearly 300 miles between us and three very different work schedules, our times together since college have been few and far between.  But our lovely Kristin was set to say 'I do' and we weren't going to miss it for the world. We spent the day together, just the three of us, doing what girls do, reminiscing about our daily lives together and catching up since our separation.

The friendship between Dana and Kristin and I is pretty special. We each bring something very different to our relationship but one thing that keeps us together is our taste in men. Well, specifically our taste in Mikes. Over the years, we all ended up falling in love with a Mike (three different ones, don't worry)! I married my Mike a little over 3 years ago and about 30 hours ago, Kristin tied the knot with hers.  And perhaps someday Dana will marry her 'darling' (and I kid you not, her name will be Dana Darling - cutest thing ever, I know). And what a great looking trio they are.

One of my favorite parts about this wedding was the personal nature of it.  Everything we did had a reason - right down to the pre-wedding preparation. The morning of the wedding, the boys took off to go fishing and golfing for the day while the girls had Caribou and got their hair done. It represented our friendships perfectly.

The ceremony was very intimate - just including the wedding party and some immediate family. Kristin asked me to take care of the music and I was honored to do it. I gathered a group of amazing young men from St. Olaf who make up a mens acappella group on campus and they did an absolute fantastic job. They were loved SO much they were talked into joining us for the reception, too! I had so much fun getting to know them better - what a great group of guys (and good looking, too, right!).

It was a gorgeous celebration of the love people share. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking...

Kristin, you are the icing on MY cupcake. My best friend in this universe - I am so happy for the two of you. I know that you will continue to make each other's dreams come true and I hope my Mike & I are here for every one of them. Thank you for everything you are and for bringing out the best in everyone around you. I look forward to all that we have ahead of us as we walk through it all side by side. I love you! Congratulations to you and yours. :) xoxo
