a wonderful week

It has been 7 days of fun and fortune.  March madness - Duke & Wisconsin victories - St. Patrick's Day, birthday celebrations, outdoor runs, family visits, fun with friends, great weather...it just doesn't get much better than that.

Sharing a birthday with St. Patrick's Day has always been a great reminder of how fortunate I am...this year was no different. Here are some of my favorites from the week:

I have to start with this little peanut. She is the most adorable thing I have ever seen and I just can't get enough of her. She was such a cutie this weekend and I was lucky enough to get to keep her overnight. We may have gotten up to hang out for a bit around 3:30am but we just had a quick snack and then went back to sleep.  I have too many wonderful pictures of my little Gerber baby so I decided to make a quick video rather than trying to pick just a few to post - there are too many great ones to leave out.

The best giant pop-up card I've ever received from my wonderful student staff. ..sitting on my desk waiting for me when I got to work in the morning. Made my day before it even started :)
The day started bright and early at Perkins with Mikey for breakfast before he headed off to work. He thought he'd have a hard time getting me up before 6 to go eat...yeah right. :)
My birthday breakfast - yuuuuummmmmmm!
Two of my favorite birthday cards from my favorite little twins - Ethan & Owen.

We continued our St. Patty's Day/birthday celebration at Toby Keith's Bar in St. Louis Park for dinner - where tons of people (pretending to be Irish for the day) celebrated with green beer, corn beef and cabbage! We had a great time (and no, Toby Keith was not there).
A Wobby birthday dinner would be weird without Jon so we were glad he was able to join us.  Per usual, I like to remind him how much I think he looks like Aladdin. All I hear when I see this picture is "one jump ahead of the breadline, one swing ahead of the sword, I steal only when I can't afford...one jump ahead of the lawmen, that's all and that's no joke, these guys don't appreciate that I'm broke"

Strawberry Shortcake - my new favorite dessert. Didn't last long...

We even got to visit our kitties - Jack & Eddie - who are currently living with Mike's cousins. :)
My wonderful week continued through the weekend when we went home for a great birthday dinner and celebration with family and friends. My parents made a great dinner - chicken, steak & shrimp fondue, twice-baked spinach potatoes, salad, marshmallow crescent rolls, chocolate cake AND french silk pie! And our dear friends Betty Boop and Freddie were there to celebrate - it was great to have them!  I was born just 4 days before my mom's birthday so I am honored to celebrate our birthdays together every year. I can't think of anyone I'd rather celebrate with than her.

Thank you for a WONDERFUL birthday. I am incredibly fortunate and I know it!
xoxo
